Whether you're a total beginner or a long-lost knitter who needs a refresher--if you've been wanting to learn to get your knit on, this workshop is for you!

We'll cover basics of this simple, portable craft of turning yarn into fabric. With a pair of needles, some yarn and a little basic know-how, you'll be on your way to knitting nirvana.

In this workshop, you'll learn:

  • Yarn & needle information
  • How to cast on and start
  • The knit stitch
  • How to bind off to finish any project

Location: We have two locations in Greenpoint, Brooklyn: The BCC Shop at 165 Greenpoint Ave, and The BCC Annex 37 Greenpoint Ave #105.  Your workshop location will be indicated when selecting your workshop date above. Your booking confirmation email and any subsequent reminder emails will also include the address, with a link to the location on Google Maps.



Cost: $45 includes three hours of instruction. Yarn and knitting needles must be purchased before or during class; a 10% discount will be honored for all students.

Meet Your Instructor

Amelia is a maker, designer, and instructor with over 20 years experience. She works in the fashion industry as a knitwear designer and is the Creative Director and Founder of Studio Faden, a fiber art instruction company. Originally from the PNW, she now calls Brooklyn home where outside of crafting, she enjoys yoga and her two cats. Find out more at @studio_faden

 

Emily Habashy is a Queens-based sewist, fiber artist, and illustrator. She runs Pink Art Machine Studio, where she makes cute and colorful goods ranging from home decor to clothing. Find her on Instagram and TikTok @pinkartmachine.


Lili Tobias spends most of her time knitting, listening to music, or doing both at the same time. She also enjoys collecting yarn and fabric that may or may not be turned into something cool eventually.

Total newbies welcome - no experience required!

During class you will get started on a hand warmers/ fingerless mitts project.

Materials needed for class are available to be purchased at our shop in person or online as a local pick up order at a 10% student discount. Please note, within 24 hrs of registering for the workshop, you will receive the discount code for the materials needed.
