Get ready for your newest craft addiction! Learn beginner punch needle techniques as you design and make your own ornaments in this fun and relaxing 2-hour workshop. Total newbies welcome!
In this class you'll learn:
- How to thread and punch with an adjustable punch needle
- How to select the right yarn for your project
- How to work with monks cloth
- How to create different textures
- How to back your ornament with felt or finish in a wooden hoop
You'll leave with a small ornament (approximately 3-4") and the know-how to create more pieces on your own! The skills learned can also be used to make wall hangings, pillows, rugs, and more!
Registration includes all necessary materials. Adjustable punch needles will be available for use during class, and will be available for purchase if you'd like to continue punching after class!
Note: If you would like to bring a little of your own yarn, especially if you have colors you know you want to use in your piece, go for it! Worsted and chunky yarns work best for this project. We will provide enough yarn for everyone, but if you have anything special you want to incorporate, feel free to bring it along! You're also welcome to browse our in-store yarn selection; students will receive a 10% discount for any purchases made the day of class.
