Latch Hook Wall Hanging
Join us to make your own fluffy, cushy, retro, latch hook wall hanging!
Using a special canvas, a latch hook, and yarn in your choice of colors, learn to design and construct a small wall hanging from start to finish. Guided by instructor Clare Harmon, you'll learn basic stitches, how to create fringe, and how incorporate tons of texture. Students will explore how to plan, set up and begin a piece, and you'll have time for some leisurely latch hooking with help from the instructor. You'll leave this workshop with everything you need to know to create more wall hangings, pillow, rugs... you name it!
Note: If you would like to bring a little of your own yarn, especially if you have colors you know you want to use in your project, go for it! Worsted weight and bulky yarns work best for this project. We will provide enough yarn for everyone, but if you have anything special you want to incorporate, feel free to bring it along! Additional yarn will also be available for purchase at a 10% discount the day of class.

"I started Hartshorn Studio in Williamsburg about two years ago in memory of my grandmother and a dear friend, both of whom were immensely creative and inspiring to me. I first discovered my passion for textile and fiber art in high school, but it wasn’t until my 40’s that I dove head first into developing my skills in macrame, tapestry weaving and needle work. Being a maker in Brooklyn has given me so much inspiration, support and a real sense of community with the myriad other crafters, makers and creative people who populate our city.
