WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION

Learn to crochet a top! If you're a confident beginner who has mastered crochet basics and are looking to tackle larger projects, this virtual workshop is for you!

In this three-part workshop, we'll work through the Wool & the Gang Calvin Tank. You will learn:

 

  • Yarn & hook information
  • How to begin your crochet project
  • A review of the chain stitch and foundation chain
  • The double crochet stitch
  • Chain spaces, slip stitch, and whip stitch
  • How to create a open mesh panel

 

This is three-part virtual workshop taking place on the following dates:

Tuesday 7/20 at 6:30-8:30pm

Tuesday 7/27 at 6:30-7:30pm

Tuesday 8/3 at 6:30-8:30pm 

**There will be stitching homework between each session!**

 

Materials and Tools Required:

  • 3-5 balls of Billie Jean Yarn depending on size (see charts in photos above). 
    • Size 1: 3 balls
    • Size 2-3: 4 balls
    • Size 4-6: 5 balls
  • Scissors

 

SKILL REQUIREMENTS: You must have basic crochet skills to attend this workshop.  If you are a total newbie or need a refresher, consider attending one of our Crochet 101 workshops first- register here.

MEET YOUR INSTRUCTOR 

Kat Petrillo is an artist and educator residing in Long Island City. Her studio practice focuses on fiber based crafts including crochet, knitting, punch needle rug hooking, and embroidery. You can find her and her beloved cat, Wallace, on Instagram @TheStitchingPoint
