Who doesn't love a giant tote? Join us to make the perfect big bag for all your weekend getaways!
In just one afternoon we'll walk you through how to sew a sturdy, lined tote bag, complete with two pockets and a zip closure. We'll cover:
- Bag construction fundamentals
- How to create a wide, square bottom for your tote
- How to use interfacing to add body and strength to your bag
- Making a lining for a bag and attaching straps
- Installing a zipper
- Installing a magnetic snap
Fabric and other supplies will be available for purchase in our retail shop at a 10% discount to students. All tools needed to complete this class will be provided and sewing machines will be available courtesy of BERNINA of America.
This is a two-evening intensive workshop being held on the following dates:
Thursday, 11/14 and Thursday, 11/21, 6:30pm-9:30pm
Skill requirements: This is a confident beginner sewing workshop; you do not need to have any experience sewing bags, but you must have basic machine-sewing skills. Our Sewing 101 class (or equivalent) is a prerequisite for this class. (You can register for one of our upcoming Sewing 101 workshops here.)
