 Meet Your Instructors

Ginny: A white blonde woman smiling looking over her shoulder in a cream crocheted top

Ginny is a crocheter and knitter based in Brooklyn. She first learned to crochet in 7th grade, thanks to a friend who taught her during gym class. She has sought out opportunities to share the joy of fiber arts ever since. Over the years, Ginny has created nearly every type of project imaginable, but she especially loves to make well-fitting clothing. She also enjoys designing her own patterns and exploring the possibilities of circular machine knitting.

Basic crochet experience is required. You should be comfortable with:

  • Chain stitch
  • Either single crochet or double crochet stitches

If you've taken one of our Crochet 101 classes in the past or if you've learned crochet basics another way, you're ready for Lil' Scarf!

For Crochet 101 - Lil' Scarf, you will need:

  • 1 size 8mm Crochet Hook
  • 1 ball of Malabrigo Chunky, or 2 balls if you would like a contrast border (we highly recommended starting out with a lighter color so you can see your stitches better as you are learning)
  • Quick locking stitch markers. Ring stitch markers won't work, those are for knitting only. The markers have to be able to open and close.
  • Tapestry needle (highly recommended but optional).

All materials needed for class are available to be purchased at our shop in person or online as a local pick up order at a 10% student discount. Please note, within 24 hrs of registering for the workshop, you will receive a discount code for the materials needed.

All class registrations are final; no refunds will be given.
