Retail & Events Operations
*Seeking candidates for immediate hire**
In this role, your focus will be providing a great customer experience for our community of crafters.
- Sales and customer service, including but not limited to: Helping customers pick out the best tools and materials for their projects, educating customers on our workshop offerings, etc.
- Communicating with customers via email regarding workshop registrations, online orders, etc.
- Set-up for and assist with workshops and events, both in-store and off-site
- Keep the shop organized and tidy, including basic cleaning tasks like dusting, sweeping, etc.
- Process incoming merchandise shipments
- Pack and ship online orders
- Assist with inventory management and merchandizing, both in-store and online
- Prepare materials and kits for our workshops and events
- An efficient and fast worker with strong attention to detail
- A focused self-starter
- Flexible-- We're a growing small business who will need to rely on you for many things, and day to day tasks will vary!
- Trustworthy and dependable
- Able to prioritize tasks and has strong time management skills
- Very interested/ experienced in crafting!
- Experience in an in-person customer facing role
- Must be available for 4 shifts per week, including weekends (both Saturday & Sunday availability preferred) totaling around 24-32 hours per week.
- Flexible schedule! Our needs may vary slightly week to week depending on our event schedule. You may be scheduled for day shifts or evening shifts.
- Must be available days surrounding Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's (We are closed on the actual holiday dates)
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds
- Must be able to be on your feet/ active for 6-8 hours per day
- Must be comfortable standing on a ladder
- Small business retail experience a huge plus!
- Must be comfortable with large dogs (One of our team members is a friendly mutt named Frank)
- **Must have strong knowledge of knitting, crochet or sewing. The ideal candidate would have interest in a wide range of crafts, and would be excited to learn about more crafts**

Kids Sewing Instructors
We are seeking enthusiastic and energetic teachers to lead our after school kids sewing workshops starting in September!
In this role, you would teach small groups (max 4 students per teacher) how to machine sew a variety of projects such as simple garments, accessories, and home decor, following a pre-determined curriculum.
Classes take place weekdays between 3pm-6pm.
Responsibilities include:
- Teach machine sewing projects to kids ages 8-12 at various skill levels
- Manage classroom behavior to ensure a fun and safe learning environment
- Prepare and organize class projects and materials
- Manage the pace of projects, giving each student individualized attention as needed
- Share your love of sewing!
We are looking for someone who:
- Is available at least 1-2 weekday afternoons during the school year. Bonus points for daytime summer camp availability in 2026
- Has strong sewing experience of at least 3 years
- Is an excellent communicator
- Enjoys working with kids (experience working with kids 8-12 strongly preferred)
- Prior teaching experience a big plus!
- The ideal candidate would also have an interest in teaching adult workshops or taking on other responsibilities at our small business

Adult Workshop & Private Event Instructors
We are currently hiring instructors to teach the following on evenings/ weekends:
- Sewing (Beginner & Intermediate garments, accessories, and home decor)
- Calligraphy
- Candle Making
- Rigid Heddle Weaving
- Basket Weaving
- Bookbinding
- Fabric Marbling
- Tatting
- Patchwork & Quilting (Weeknights Only)
We are seeking friendly, outgoing folks with expertise in one or more areas of crafting/ DIY. Teaching experience is not necessary, but is very helpful!
Instructors typically teach anywhere from 1-8 workshops per month depending on availability and our event schedule. We host both public and private workshops at our Greenpoint shop, go off-site for private events of all sizes, and host both public and private virtual workshops.
While we are always accepting applications for the crafts below, we currently are not filling positions for these particular workshops. We encourage you to apply so that when we do have a need, we have your info on file and can reach out to you first!
