VIRTUAL WORKSHOP: Sew a Looper Quilt Top
$95.00
Interested in attending but no sessions available that fit your schedule? Please fill out this form and we will notify you when new sessions are added!
If you've been wanting to learn to sew modern + fun patchwork quilts, this is the class for you! In this two-part virtual workshop, you'll construct a Looper Quilt top.
Looper is a unique quilt pattern with modular blocks, meaning they can be rearranged in any direction to create a continuous design. Follow the suggested designs or create your own!
This workshop will cover:
- How to design a LOOPER quilt layout (check out #looperquilt on Instagram for some amazing inspiration from other makers!)
- How to accurately cut straight and curved fabric pieces with a rotary cutter and cutting mat
- How to assemble your straight and curved fabric pieces (you must have machine sewing experience; see below)
- How to iron in quilting
- Students will work toward making a 40" x 40" Baby size quilt top. Those interested in making a larger quilt can use the blocks made and skills learned in class to complete a larger quilt top on their own.
- This workshop is for constructing the quilt top only; we will not be covering quilting or binding.
This is a two-part workshop being held on the following dates:
Saturday 12/5 at 12pm-2pm and Sunday 12/6 at 12pm-2pm
Skill Requirements
Please note this is not a learn-to-sew class. Students must have basic machine sewing knowledge and be comfortable using a sewing machine.

Christine Haynes is a Brooklyn-based sewing author, teacher, and pattern designer. Christine grew up in Saugatuck, MI, a small beach community on the southwestern coast of Lake Michigan, where the arts were part of her daily life. She attended the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in the department of Film, Video, and New Media.
Her mother taught her to sew around the age of 10, and it grew from a personal hobby, until it became her main artistic outlet. After selling ready-to-wear garments for many years, Christine turned her focus to teaching others to experience the joy of making clothing for themselves through her patterns, books, and workshops.
