Learn to crochet! Whether you're a total beginner, or a long-lost crocheter who needs a refresher... if you've been wanting to learn to get your crochet on, this class is for you! In just three hours you'll learn the basics of this simple, portable craft for turning string into fabric. With a hook, some chunky yarn and a little basic know-how, you'll be on your way to crochet happiness as you create a warm, chunky cowl!

In this class, you’ll learn the basics of crochet, including:

  • Yarn & hook information
  • How to begin your crochet project
  • The single and double crochet stitches
  • How to work back in forth in straight, even rows
  • You'll begin making a chunky scarf or cowl

Materials List

All materials needed for class are available to be purchased at our shop in person or online as a local pick up order at a 10% student discount. Please note, within 24 hrs of registering for the workshop, you will receive a discount code for the materials needed. For Crochet 101 you will need: 

  • 1 size 12mm Crochet Hook
  • 1 ball of Crazy Sexy Wool (we highly recommended starting out with a lighter color so you can see your stitches better as you are learning)

Cost: $45 includes three hours of instruction. Yarn and crochet hook can be purchased during class; a 10% discount will be honored for all students the day of class.

 Meet Your Instructors

Grace Bilbao is a fiber enthusiast currently living and working in Brooklyn. Originally from North Carolina, she graduated from North Carolina State University with a bachelors in Art & Design. Her interest in fibers began after being taught how to crochet by her Grandmother, and after what was an obsessive hobby became a meditative practice that she hopes to share with others. Emily is a Queens-based sewist, fiber artist, and illustrator. She runs Pink Art Machine Studio, where she makes cute and colorful goods ranging from home decor to clothing. Find her on Instagram and TikTok @pinkartmachine.
