Knitting 102: Market Tote



Kick your beginner knitting skills up a notch and learn to knit a bag!

In this workshop, we'll work to make a super versatile tote, perfect for loading up with goodies at the farmers market, or anywhere! 

This is a two session workshop being held on Wednesday September 25th and Wednesday October 2nd, 6:30-9:30pm. Students must be available to attend both sessions.

You will learn:

  • Yarn & needle information
  • The purl stitch
  • The yarn over technique
  • How to follow a knitting pattern
  • How to join two knit pieces
  • All the skills needed to construct a market bag from start to finish

SKILL REQUIREMENTS: You must have basic knitting skills to attend this workshop, including: casting on and knitting. Our Knitting 101 workshop (or equivalent experience) is a prerequisite to this class-- register here.

Cost: $75 includes six hours of instruction (two Wednesday evenings). Yarn and knitting needles must be purchased during class; a 10% discount will be honored for all students the day of class.

Meet Your Instructor

Amelia Burrus-Granger is a Greenpoint-based designer and maker. Originally from the west coast with a background in Women’s Studies and the history of radical knitting, her current hobbies include reading young adult fiction, decluttering her apartment, and daydreaming of re-wilding. Check out her work at ameliamargaret.com.
