Intro to Garment Sewing: Cozy Sweatshirt
Join us for this one-day workshop and learn to sew your new favorite sweatshirt!
Working from the Linden Pattern from Grainline Studio, you'll learn the basics of sewing with medium-weight knits, while creating modern take on a classic wardrobe piece.
This is a one-day, seven hour workshop with a midday break. You will learn:
- Basics of sewing from a commercial pattern
- How to lay out and cut your fabric, with instruction specific to working with stretchy knit fabrics
- How to sew stretch knit fabrics on a standard sewing machine (not a serger)
- How to attach ribbing
- You'll leave class with a finished sweatshirt that you can make again and again in the future, plus the knowledge to tackle more projects
Basic sewing experience is required; you must be comfortable working on a sewing machine. If you are a beginner, our Sewing 101 class (or equivalent) is a prerequisite for this class.
