Interested in attending but no sessions available that fit your schedule? Please fill out this form and we will notify you when new sessions are added!

Please note: All class registrations are final; please view our Cancellation Policy and Covid-19 Policy for more information. By registering for this workshop, you are agreeing to abide by these policies. Thank you for supporting our small business!

Skill level requirement: this is NOT a learn to sew class; you must have sewn in the recent past, and be confident operating a sewing machine independently. See below for more info. If you're a total beginner, check out our Sewing 101 Workshops.

Step up your bag sewing game and make a pair of Open Studios Cozy Slippers!

You’ll make this slipper over and over again - for yourself, for your friends, and even for those hard-to-buy-for people on your list.  This pattern is available in adult sizes (Men’s 5-12 and Women’s 6-13) and kid sizes!

In this workshop, we’ll cover how to:

  • Make a pair of slippers from start to finish
  • Create and insert a slipper lining
  • How to include a layer of batting without quilting
  • Please note: Due to time constraints, we will not be making the quilted version of the slippers in this workshop. We will cover the plain version only.

Skill level: This is confident-beginner level workshop. Recent sewing experience is required! While you don't need to be an expert level sewer to take this workshop, this shouldn't be your first project. Ideally you have sewn at least a few projects in the recent past and are comfortable using a sewing machine independently. Our Sewing 101 workshop (or equivalent experience) is a minimum prerequisite. If you're unsure if you're qualified for this workshop, just shoot us an email summarizing your experience and we'll be happy to chat!

Please note: All students much purchase a Cozy Slipper PDF pattern from Open Studio. Pattern must be printed and assembled prior to the workshop. At only four pages, it's an easy one to put together, we promise! Fabric and thread will be available for purchase in our retail shop at a 10% discount to students. All tools needed to complete this class will be provided and sewing machines will be available courtesy of BERNINA of America.
